Mama’s Banana Pudding

Banana pudding was one of my favorite desserts growing up.  Mama always let us lick the warm pudding from the pot when she was finished making this dessert.  Usually we ate the whole dessert while it was still warm, although it is still good when it’s cold.

1 large box vanilla pudding

   (the kind you cook)

3 bananas sliced into wheels

1 box vanilla wafer cookies

Cook vanilla pudding according to directions.   In large glass bowl layer vanilla cookies, then layer bananas on top.  Pour warm pudding over this layer.  Repeat with vanilla wafers and bananas lining wafers around edges of bowl.  Add remaining pudding.  Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.  When chilled top with whipped cream and then put one more layer of bananas and cookies on top.
